An Unforgettable African Safari Adrift A Hot Air Balloon With Awesome Scenes Of The Plains Teeming With Wildlife.
An African safari is not finished without going on a flight on a hot air balloon.
In 1976, Alan Root and his wife Joan- wildlife film producers, rode in a hot air balloon to shoot picture clips of wild animals. It was far easier, to use the balloon to reach areas where a car could hardly access, to film lovely aerials of wild animals.

We take 90 degrees spin and underneath we notice the heads of giraffes over the canopies of acacia bushes as they feed on the foliage, scarcely observing us moving in the air above.
After approximately one hour afloat, the journey comes to an end and a bouncy landing brings us back to the ground. At this moment we crawl out of the carrier to a champagne breakfast. The charm is that this breakfast happens in the wild, where ever you land, and it's made as you watch with the burners that moments before kept you suspended in the air. What a way to begin our morning safari!

After the end year rains, the vegetation is dense green as we drive back to our camp observing game en-route. It is such a contrast as these are the same grasslands which, in November, were golden, dried up and hash.
Abruptly we encounter a mother cheetah marking her territory, spraying the area with urine. Once executed, she scans our troupe and then makes a soft chirping sound as she walks through the grass. Very likely she is searching for her litter.
The grasslands are swarming with elephants, buffaloes, topi, wildebeests and other antelopes and the sight is just wonderful.
