Another big problem is how transparent the blog networks are. After all, if a Google employee can join the service and easily identify all of the blogs inside network, it wouldn't take much to allow them to completely discount all of the links on services.
These types of blog networks can function well as part of a larger traffic strategy, however, if you rely on them as your primary supply of links you will most probably be disappointed.
And if you do subscribe to one, make certain they don't share each of the sites within the network. Ideally you want a system it doesn't show you the sites, but handles the posting for you personally.
