Do not waste good speed cleaning time polishing that furniture! If it is new furniture, it already has a protective finish to it. There is no need to do much more than dust it.
And in case it is a teak finish, well, oil it down for now and let that oil sit for several hours (ideally overnight!)
And there you have it in a nutshell, another speed bump crushed in your race to clean your home - efficiently. I feel, though, like I really need to give you one more practical tip - and when it comes to home furniture there's a lot of half-truths floating around. So I will let you in on a secret that neither the manufacturers of the furniture would tell you nor will people who make furniture polish really want you to know.
You can make your own "green" furniture cleaners. It costs lesser than what it should if you bought a commercial one and it's significantly better not only for the environment, but for your personal health as well. And, additionally, your pieces of furniture will simply love it as well.
There are a number of speed cleaning tips from which to choose, this is certainly one of my favorites. It's also one that's recommended for teak furniture. And in case you own any teak you know how cautious you have to be with that finish.
Use either of the following 2 and you can't go wrong:
¼ teaspoon light olive oil
¼ cup white vinegar
Or
¼ cup walnut oil
four drops lemon extract
Once you use these cleaning tips I'm betting you would never ever buy commercial furniture polish and oil again.
