Poodle Biting in Older Dogs
If your Poodle is still biting or nipping when it's aged, you need to make sure that you have full control of your dog. First, you need make sure that you show them that you are the boss. Handle feeding times, walking times, and train your dog some basic commands. And also keep in mind not to think twice when giving commands and avoid any games like wrestling, tug of war, or chasing that can result in biting because this will make the behavior into a game that seeks attention.
Try taking your poodle to an obedience class when they show aggressive behavior or fear and nervousness related tendencies. This will help them socialize with other dogs and help them address their aggression issues in a controlled environment.
But if your poodle biting problem grows more hazardous, think about hiring an expert or visit your veterinarian to rule out any possible health related causes to their biting.
So remember, that biting from your Poodle is never acceptable. You have to deal with it immediately because it can be of a greater behavior issues under the surface and can develop into a more dangerous issue when your poodle gets older.
